Katie Tarrant is a Senior Technical Sound Designer currently working at Rare Ltd on Sea of Thieves. She started at Rare in 2017 as an Audio Intern and, after teaching herself to program in C++, now takes responsibility for creating audio assets as well as creating the systems and code hooks required for them to work in-game. Katie graduated with a First Class Honours in music from Sir Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in 2016. A lover of music from a young age, she is a guitarist, bassist and drummer, and have played in a wealth of bands throughout my music career, as well as having a background in music composition.

After graduation, she was the first ever recipient of UK Music's 'Outstanding Contribution to Music' graduate award, and equally honoured the following year to receive King and Diversi's scholarship to attend the Game Developer's Conference. In 2018, she also became one of GameIndustry.Biz's Top 100 Rising Stars in the industry.
